1. Electrical Effect on the human body.

Current Value Consequences on the human body
From 0.0-1.0 m Amp Will not feel the current going through him
From 1.0-4.1 Start feeling of the current
From 1.0-4.2 A feeling f a pin poke
From 2.0-10.0 A vibration and the hand goes up
From 10.0-20.0 Feeling of pain and cannot left hand
From 20.0-100.0 Feeling of pain and losing conscious
From 30.0-100.0 Lungs failure
More than 100.0 Causes instant death and severe burns where the current went in and out.

Counting that problems may occur with heart beats and breathing, people around the casualty may think he is dead. According t that first aids must e provided as soon as possible.

2. Ways To Save A Casualty’s Life

A) Fre  Eing The Person In Shock From The Connection

Freeing the person in sock from the connection must be done as son as possible and that should be done by turning the power off from the direct plug or from the general power line of the area where the accident happened. The person helping the casualty must never touch him with bare hands or he will be electrocuted. Paying attention to the place of the casualty is important because he might fell down from a high place and in situations where cutting the power is hard the following should be done:
  • If the voltage is 1000 Volts or less:

To disconnect the casualty from the objects that have electrical current, dry objects like wood, robes and clothes can be used but never wet or metal objects because they are good connectors of electricity. After the rescuer wears thick isolation gloves, or covers is hands with a dry thick piece of cloth, he should pull the casualty away from the power supply and he should not use more than one hand carefully and in the case of not being able to get the casualty’s fingers of the wire, a piece of wood should be placed under the casualty’s foot to isolate him from the ground.
  • If the voltage is 1000 Volts or more:

Isolation equipments that have the capacity of working with such voltage should be used like wearing gloves and rubber shoes and using a piece of wood to get the casualty away from the high pressure cables. Also wiring the high pressure wires by connecting the ground point or the high voltage tower and the area of connection where the accident is; in that case, the casualty will fell down so precautions must be taken to avoid more accidents.
Great attention must be given to the grounding of the area of the accident because a high charge will remain in that area.

B) First Aids

After disconnecting the current, a doctor or a specialist must be present with following the next steps.

  • The casualty must be laid down on his back and it is recommended to be on a straight dry surface.

  • The casualty's mouth must be checked and all the objects that prevent breathing weather it was solid or liquid must be removed; the head's position must be corrected to make breathing possible without anything in its way.

  • Making sure that the casualty is breathing by watching his chest moving up and down.

  • Making sure that the casualty's pulse is working and that should be done by checking his rest or neck to find out if the heart is still beating.

  • Watching the pupil, because if it gets wide it means that there is no enough blood going to the brain.

If the patient does not breathe or his heart is not beating, then the rescuer must do the jobs of the lungs and heart by giving the patient the kiss of life and massaging the chest to help the heart as follows:

  1. put the patient on his back and remove all objects from his mouth.

  2. Place one of the hands under the patient's neck and make the neck on a concave up position and put the other hand on the patient's forehead to open his mouth.

  3. Take a deep breath and place your lips on the patient's lips and close his nose with your pointer and thump and blow in his mouth until you see his chest going up.

  4. Move your mouth away and watch his chest going down and do that once every four seconds.

  5. If the patient's chest does not move, that means that there is something in his mouth that must be removed.

  6. This operation should be done to the adult once every 4-5 seconds and to children every 3 seconds until the patient starts breathing on his own.

  7. Place a blanket under the patient and do not let him get up for an hour so that his body rests and gets warm until a doctor or emergency gets there.

Exterior massaging for the heart:

  1. Using the operation of exterior massaging to the heart with the kiss of life with attention that the two operations do not interfere with each other. The breathing operation must be done quickly and the massaging operation must be done to make sure that the blood gets to the brain, kidney's and liver if one person is doing both jobs. If two people are doing them, then they should take turns in doing their jobs to guarantee the safety of the patient.

  2. To massage the patient, he must be on his back on a solid dry surface.

  3. Feel the patient's chest until you reach the bottom of the rip-cage and put one of your left hand's fingers on that end and move that right arm's wrest (not the arm) over the bottom third if the chest and put the left hand over the right one, then get your fingers away from the patient.

  4. Push down with a speed that is no less than one time every second with both hands with enough power to push the chest down for about 3-5 cm and that should be done with straight arms to use your body's weight to make the operation easier to do for a longer time, then remove your body's weight and leave your hands on the chest and repeat these steps regularly. Every time you do that, it is like doing the heart's job.

  5. The massaging operation must be done every five times of the breathing operation.

If one person is doing the operation then the following steps must be followed:
Give the patient the kiss of life twice or three times then do the exterior heart massaging 12 times. If two rescuers are present then each of them should do one of the jobs and that should be done until the patient gains full conscious. This operation must also be done on the way to a clinic or any emergency place.
