طواقم شركة توزيع الكهرباء بدأت بتنفيذ أعمال صيانة وتأهيل لشبكة الكهرباء المغذية لمضخة الصرف الصحي وخزان مياه البركة جنوب مدينة دير البلح بطول كيلومتر واحد، تمهيدا لتشغيلها من خلال خط كهرباء F11 المغذي لمحطة التحلية.

تأتي هذه الأعمال ضمن المرحلة الثانية التي تنفذها شركة توزيع الكهرباء بتعاون وتمويل من منظمة اليونسيف لربط وتشغيل 6 مرافق حيوية تخدم آلاف المواطنين والنازحين.

تشغيل هذه المرافق الخدماتية مع مصلحة مياه بلديات الساحل من شأنه زيادة كميات مياه الشرب النقية التي يتم ضخها للمواطنين من خزان مياه البركة، كما أن تشغيل مضخة الصرف الصحي سيمنع حدوث كارثة بيئية وصحية نتيجة تدفق المياه العادمة وتصريفها بطرق عشوائية، كما سيحول دون انتشار الأمراض والأوبئة وخاصة مع قرب دخول فصل الشتاء.

تعمل كهرباء غزة مع شركائها الدوليين والمحليين وعلى رأسهم اليونسيف وسلطة الطاقة الفلسطينية لتنفيذ مشاريع حيوية من شأنها التخفيف من معاناة المواطنين وتحسين مستوى حياتهم.

GEDCO's technical crews have started maintenance and rehabilitation work on the path of the electricity network; that will supply the sewage pumping station and the water reservoir south of Deir al-Balah in a length of one kilometer from the F11 (Kussfem) the only operational power line, which also supplies the main desalination plant.

This work is part of the second phase project being implemented by GEDCO, with cooperation and funding from UNICEF, to connect and operate six vital facilities serving tens of thousands of residents and displaced people.

Operating these facilities, with CMWU, will effectively increase the quantities of clean drinking water pumped to citizens from the Al-Birka water reservoir. Moreover, operating the wastewater pump will prevent an environmental and public-health disaster that could result from the uncontrolled overflow and random discharge of sewage, It will also help curb the spread of diseases and epidemics, especially with the approaching winter season.

GEDCo is working closely with its international and local partners, foremost among them UNICEF, PENRA to implement vital projects aimed at alleviating the hardships faced by citizens and improving their quality of life.
