استقبلت شركة توزيع كهرباء محافظات غزة، اليوم الخميس 14 مايو 2026، وفدًا من اللجنة الدولية للصليب الأحمر (ICRC)، في زيارة هدفت إلى الاطلاع على آخر مستجدات أعمال الشركة والتعرف على أبرز التحديات التي تواجه قطاع الكهرباء في ظل الظروف الراهنة.
وكان في استقبال الوفد مدير عام الشركة د.م. محمد طه الأسطل، وم. أحمد أبو عقلين مدير الإدارة الفنية، وأ. زهير أبو خاطر مدير وحدة التعاون الدولي.
وضم وفد اللجنة الدولية للصليب الأحمر كلًا من كريستوف كاينس شريك عمليات الخدمات الأساسية (WatHab) – جنيف، وألكسندرا باتارجيا منسقة WatHab – القدس، ودنكان كاندي توبوسي قائد فريق WatHab – غزة، إلى جانب المهندس حسان أبو طعيمة.
وبدأت الزيارة من مقر الشركة المؤقت بشارع الرشيد، حيث جرى بحث واقع خدمات الكهرباء والجهود التي تبذلها الشركة للحفاظ على استمرارية تقديم الخدمة للمواطنين رغم التحديات القائمة.
كما تخللت الزيارة جولة ميدانية إلى أحد المشاريع النوعية التي تنفذها الشركة، في المحافظة الوسطى حيث كان في استقبال الوفد أ. هاني سلمان مدير إدارة الشؤون المالية ومشرف أحد مشاريع الشركة، وذلك بهدف الاطلاع على طبيعة الخدمات المقدمة وآليات الدعم للمؤسسات والمواطنين.
وأكد مدير عام الشركة خلال اللقاء أهمية استمرار التنسيق والتعاون مع المؤسسات الدولية والإنسانية، بما يسهم في دعم قطاع الكهرباء وتعزيز الخدمات المقدمة للمواطنين في محافظات غزة.
Gaza Electricity Distribution Company Receives ICRC Delegation
The Gaza Electricity Distribution Company (GEDCO) received, on Thursday, May 14, 2026, a delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), in a visit aimed at reviewing the latest developments in the company’s work and identifying the key challenges facing the electricity sector under the current circumstances.
The delegation was received by the company’s General Manager, Eng. Dr. Mohammed Taha Al-Astal, Eng. Ahmad Abu Alaqin, Director of the Technical Department, and Mr. Zuhair Abu Khater, Head of the International Cooperation Unit.
The ICRC delegation included Christoph Kains, Operations Partner for Essential Services (WatHab) – Geneva; Alexandra Batargia, WatHab Coordinator – Jerusalem; Duncan Candy Tobosi, WatHab Team Leader – Gaza; in addition to Eng. Hassan Abu Taima.
The visit began at the company’s temporary headquarters on Al-Rasheed Street, where discussions were held on the status of electricity services and the efforts undertaken by the company to maintain the continuity of service delivery to citizens despite ongoing challenges.
The visit also included a field tour to one of the company’s key projects in the Middle Area Governorate, where the delegation was received by Mr. Hani Salman, Director of Financial Affairs and Supervisor of one of the company’s projects, in order to observe the nature of the services provided and the support mechanisms offered to institutions and citizens.
During the meeting, the General Manager emphasized the importance of continued coordination and cooperation with international and humanitarian organizations to support the electricity sector and enhance services provided to citizens across the Gaza Governorates
